This authentic piece of wood was originally obtained by Mr. William Parker who was the carpenter on the cable ship ¨Minia¨, which was sent from the port of Halifax, Nova Scotia, to retreive the remains of those who tragically perished in the TITANIC disaster. Besides retrieving the bodies of 17 victims, a vast amount of floating debris was also salvaged and brought back. This section of wood was acquired directly from Mr. William Parker's family. Where until 1998, it was on display along with hundreds of other artifacts at the Titanic concepts museum.
